Gallery on First is located at 211 East First Street in Historic Downtown Sanford, Florida. The gallery is inside the historic Hotchkiss Building.Rebuilt after the Great Fire in 1887, the historic Hotchkiss building has become an easily recognizable landmark in Downtown Sanford. Built in the style of Romanesque Revival, local legend has it that rubble from the initial structure was salvaged and used in the construction of the iconic pediment on the corner of the building. Manuel Jacobson’s Department Store is the building’s most notable past inhabitant.
