Tayla May is a 17-year-old Orlando-based ceramic artist and senior in high school whose work explores Figurative Pop Art and Postmodern Neo-Expressionism. She discovered ceramics at the age of nine and has continued to develop her artistic voice through her high school’s ceramics program, art history studies, and ceramics courses at Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park.
Talya has participated in local art festivals and draws inspiration from her French heritage, as well as regular visits to Paris and its renowned museums, including the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay. Fascinated by Pop Art’s bold colors, playful imagery, and ability to transform everyday objects into joyful, thought-provoking works, she creates vibrant ceramic sculptures that invite viewers to smile, spark curiosity, and see the familiar from a new perspective.
